Download this excel document to easily calculate your weight & balances as well as take-off & landing distances. The video walks you through which cells in the spreadsheet to change and which ones will auto calculate for you so that it is easy to use for each of your flights. I’ve also set it up so when you print it, you can fold it in half and it will fit nicely with the binder shown in this post.

Great info! I’m training for my CLT (Cessna Skymaster) multi-engine and would like to know if you or someone has a fill able form for doing ALL the performance, Takeoff and landing , etc.? Sort of a checklist that I can use to ensure that I perform all calculation for my check-ride? I liked your C172K excel weight and balance, especially since I own a C172K myself. We in the Civil Air Patrol use that program as well.
Many thanks,
Hi Bill,
Thank you for the comment. I’ll be sure to see if I know of anyone who has fillable forms for multi-engine. I’m not quite there yet, so I don’t have anything myself but I’ll keep my ears open for anyone who does. Best luck passing your multi-engine check ride! And if you come up with any cheatsheets yourself, please feel free to send it my way and I’ll add it to this site with your name on it!
The landing and take off distance result does not calulate, no formula in the cells. Is this correct? Cells K10 and M10.
Hi Dom,
Thank you for your comment. So, you are correct, they don’t auto calculate. Only cells K4 & M4 auto calculate for TO/LD distances. Basically you would need to enter everything in the yellow cells and use those numbers to determine the runways distances by looking at the chart below it. I unfortunately don’t know a simple calculation that works. Thanks again.
Thanks, just wanted to confirm I wasn’t missing something.
